13th Sabbath Offering March 27

Announced by Beth Radford on Mar 21 2010

Your offering will go to help God's children in two of the poorest and most needy countries in the World on the African Continent, Rwanda and Burundi.

RWANDA is a small but densely populated country of 10 million people in east-central Africa.  Three-fourths of the people live outside the cities on small farms scattered throughout the hilly region.

The two main people groups are the Tutsi and the Hutu.  The 1994 war between these groups resulted in almost one million people died in this genocide.

Today, the Adventist University of Central Africa has just one large building that houses classrooms and administrative offices.  However, it serves more than 2,200 students most of whom are not Adventists.

Your offering will help complete a new church / multipurpose building where these students can meet together.

BURUNDI is a tiny country which lies just south of Rwanda with a population of 8.9 million people.  About two-thirds of the people are Roman Catholic Christians and one-third follow traditional African beliefs and spirit worship.

The average life expectancy is about 52 years, one of the lowest in the world, as well as one of the highest incidences of HIV/AIDS.

Your offering will help to build a full service hospital which will treat both the bodies and souls of the millions who will be served.

So please, plan now to give a very liberal 13th Sabbath School Offering March 27.   The more than 18 million people living in these two smallest countries need your help to heal their bodies, souls, and minds.
